Alarm sounds at 4.45am, the sun hasn’t even risen yet!! Breakfast is at 5.15am and we leave at 6am. Personally I’m glad to leave this campsite behind what with the crabs trying to join us in our tent and the shower blocks that are being renovated this hasn’t exactly been a great place to stop. Now it’s time to shake the sand from our shoes and leave Mozambique and head for the game packed Kruger National Park in South Africa.
It’s another long day on the road with a border crossing that is renowned for being busy. The road is busy and gets busier as we get closer to the border.

We arrive at the border at Lebombo and make a swift exit from Mozambique and join a long queue for our third and final entry into South Africa. The queue moves quickly and we complete all border formalities in 55 minutes. We re-board the truck for a further couple of hours drive to our accommodation, Nkambeni Safari Camp at Kruger National Park. On arrival we decide we’ve had enough with camping and need a decent night’s sleep and a proper shower so we upgrade to a safari tent for the next 3 nights.

Sadly, the food on the truck hasn’t been that great in the last few days so we opt to have dinner in the restaurant which is great as we eat meat from the braai with mountains of veg. I’m so hungry I eat 2 puddings which are lush. We’ve an early start in the morning for a game drive so we’re tucked up in our very comfortable bed by 9.30pm. This trip is so rock n roll.
It’s going to get better and better x
