Victoria Falls straddling the Zimbabwe and Zambian borders has to be seen to be believed. It’s low water here currently but just the spray generated by the tumbling falls is akin to a power shower. It is truly a magnificent sight and we cannot recommend a visit highly enough.
Fresh from a 10.5 hour overnight flight from London to Jo’Burg with a very prompt plane change for Vic Falls we arrived early afternoon and rapidly unpacked our bags into our safari tent and walked excitedly through town artfully avoiding all the hawkers to view the Falls.
The $30 per person entrance fee initially feels quite expensive for what is a 2km walk through the national park. By the end of our visit we would’ve happily paid double to see the falls at each of the 13 different viewing points. The rainbows created by the sun shining through the spray give our visit a magical feel and we certainly found our pot of gold visiting one of the seven wonders of the world. But enough chat this is what you’ve been waiting for. Enjoy!
Completely energised by what we’ve seen we head back to our campsite for dinner and ice cold Zambezi. The only decision we have to make is how we’d like our Impala and Warthog steaks cooked!!
Oh wow, fan…bloody…tastic xx
