Chobe National Park, Botswana

The Lonely Planet informs us that “Botswana is blessed with some of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth…….one of the great safari destinations in Africa. There are more elephants in Botswana than in any other country on earth. Botswana is a truly extraordinary place.” No pressure for our game drive then.

We enter via the Seddu Gate and for the rest of the day we are absolutely speechless at the abundance and variety that we see. At 3.30pm we join the rest of the group for a sunset boat trip on the Chobe River.

Below is the list of the animal highlights but I’m sure I’ve forgotten a load:

Elephants, Lions, Giraffes, Warthogs, Crocodiles, Hippos, Water Buffalo, Vultures, Hornbills, Baboons, Kundu, Storks, Impalas.

I’ll leave the photos to do the talking but all I’ll say is if you ever get a chance to visit do not hesitate it is absolutely incredible.
